Pristine Table Architecture Candleholders

Set of three rare stair-step candleholders by American designer, Wilber L. Orme. Designed in 1937.

The vogue for architectural motifs extended to even table decoration. Made of clear, sleek glass, Orme’s set of candleholders is both urbane and playful. The set’s building-block design is drawn from the step-back, or gradually narrowing, of the uppermost sections of skyscrapers required by law (passed in 1916) to provide for sunlight at street level.
