Amber Blown Glass Vase with Bark Texture, Italy, 1980s

Throughout the 1970s and 80s, several Italian glassworks developed moulding techniques that gave blown glass an organic relief here, a bark-like texture with irregular vertical ridges running the full height of the piece.

Deep amber blown glass, dark brown at the surface fading to a lighter, translucent tone at the neck and base. The relief comes from moulding, so each piece carries a slightly different ridge pattern. Straight cylindrical form, wide opening.

Very good overall condition. The texture is a feature of the piece rather than damage worth noting a small light mark near the rim visible in one photo: check whether it’s a reflection or a minor surface mark before listing.
