Art Deco Handblown Glass Vase by William Stenberg, Sweden, 1930s

A gorgeous, bulbous Art Deco vase, hand-blown by William Stenberg (18851961) for Gullaskruf Glassworks, Sweden, in the 1930s. Smoky blue glass, two charmingly curled handles, and a swirl of trapped bubbles throughout that catch the light beautifully. A fine example of Stenberg’s work, a name that remains central to Swedish Art Deco and modernist glass design, with pieces held in the collections of the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.
