Rare vintage exhibition catalogue published by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in 1959, dedicated to the Art Nouveau movement and its impact on art and design at the turn of the century. A seminal reference document capturing one of MoMA’s landmark exhibitions on decorative arts and design history.

Edited by the famous director, Peter Selz, and Mildred Constantine, this MoMA catalogue accompanied the landmark 1960-61 exhibition which started at MoMA and traveled to the Carnegie Institute, LA County Museum, and Baltimore Museum of Art. Contributors including Henry-Russell Hitchcock cover painting, sculpture, prints, decorative arts, and architecture, with 193 illustrations spanning 196 pages, plus bibliography and artist biographies.

We handle a lot of MoMA publications and this cover is extremely unique and this is one of our favorite cover designs they have published.

Condition
Cover has slight wear with some black ink speckling. Interior is clean and binding is intact.
