Calacatta T Tumbled 2×2 Marble Mosaics 12×12

Calacatta T on a 12×12 mesh sheet, made up of two inch squares with a tumbled finish. Tumbling knocks the edges off each piece, so the sheet arrives looking worn rather than freshly cut. Six sheets to a box, six square feet.

Edges taken off deliberately

A tumbled surface is produced by agitating the stone until corners round and the face softens, which suits a white marble by taking the hardness out of it. Style is recorded as rustic for exactly that reason. Each sheet is 3/8 inch thick. White marble mosaics with tumbled edges hold grout differently from sharp cut ones, since the rounded corner leaves a wider joint at the surface. That wider joint is part of the look, so a grout close to the stone colour usually serves better than a contrasting one.

Shower floors carries the rating, kitchen the recorded room. A sheet covers a square foot and six make a box, so a 60 square foot area needs 12 boxes with the usual margin for cuts. Every sheet wants full adhesive contact behind it, because an unsupported piece in a floor is the one that cracks. A 1/2×12 pencil liner matches for edges.

Care

Seal after setting and again every one to two years. Marble dulls where acid touches it, so keep citrus and vinegar based cleaners away and use a pH neutral stone product.
