Morotris takes the Cloud White glaze onto a picket, a ceramic accent tile with pointed ends measuring 3 5/8 by 6 1/8. Laid in rows the points interlock, and the wall gains a rhythm that a plain rectangle cannot give it.

Shape instead of pattern

Since the glaze is a single flat white with nothing printed on it, everything visual comes from the outline of the piece and the shadow at its edge. Rounded edges deepen that shadow slightly. At 3/8 inch the body matches the other ceramic tiles in this group, so a picket band can meet a field of 4×7 1/2 or 3×6 without a step at the joint.
