Marmara draws on Glacier and Allure Light together, a marble mosaic on a sheet just under ten inches square with more than one finish across its pieces. Colour is recorded as blue, which in a stone of this kind means a cool cast rather than a hue.

Two stones, one temperature

Both stones sit at the cool end, so instead of contrast the sheet delivers a consistent temperature with small differences of tone inside it. Variation between pieces is slight. The mixed finish is what adds depth, showing itself as light crosses the surface rather than as a difference in colour. Sheets are 3/8 inch and each covers 0.64 square feet. Sheet joins are the only alignment worth planning, since everything inside a sheet arrives fixed and only the meeting points between them can drift.

  • Cool throughout Both stones sit at the same end of the range, so nothing jars.
  • Finish adds depth Surface treatment varies where colour does not.

Shower floors

Shower floors is the recorded usage, bathroom the room. Ten sheets fill a box for 6.4 square feet, so eleven boxes handle 60 square feet once cutting is counted. Sheets need adhesive across their entire back, which in a wet area is the difference between a floor that lasts and one that fails at a single piece. Opening more than one box while setting spreads any small difference across the whole floor rather than leaving it in one place.

  • Eleven boxes 6.4 square feet a box across 60 square feet.
  • Bed it completely Any void under a sheet becomes a failure point in a wet floor.

Why we chose it

  • Consistent temperature Two cool stones rather than a warm and cool pairing.
  • Quiet variation Slight difference between pieces keeps the surface calm.
  • Made for a slope Small pieces follow a fall towards the drain.

Care

Seal after installation and reseal every one to two years, with more attention in a shower. Acids etch marble on contact, so a pH neutral stone cleaner is the only routine product to use.
