Italian burgundy aluminium “Galassia” catch-all by Brandani, 1980s

Italy, 1980s. Brandani’s “Galassia” series also comes in a darker, more sophisticated tone: a deep, almost garnet burgundy enamel that stands apart from the collection’s pastel shades. The shell, in cast aluminium with the collection’s elongated, asymmetric leaf silhouette, is here covered in a burgundy enamel ribbed with fine concentric grooves that play with the light. The exterior remains raw, polished aluminium. Good overall condition: the enamel keeps its deep shine, the aluminium shows a light patina, with no dents or cracks. At 32 cm long by 14.5 cm wide and 7 cm high, it’s the most compact of the three colourways an elegant, darker piece for a more muted touch of colour in a design interior.
