Italian Clear Lucite & Gilt Metal Ashtray Vide-poche 1970

Italian design of the 1970s elevated lucite as a primary material, cut into thick blocks, beveled and faceted to exploit internal light refraction. Combined with gilt metal, it produced desk objects and accessories that balanced graphic presence with functional precision.
Square vide-poche in thick clear lucite block, circa 1970. The structure features deep chamfered corners and internal facets that generate complex optical effects. The central cup is a removable gilt metal dish with slightly raised circular edges. Clean and precise assembly, consistent with Italian production standards of the period. The lucite is in perfect condition no scratches or yellowing. The gilt metal cup shows an even, warm patina with light traces of use visible on close inspection, consistent with age.
