Italian Rectangular Box in Patinated Plexiglass, 1970s

Milan, 1970s. The working of solid plexiglass reached great finesse in Italy at the time, playing on the thickness and purity of the material. This rectangular box is a beautiful expression of it.

Made entirely of transparent plexiglass, it consists of a body with thick walls and a lid worked with fine parallel ribs that catch the light. The construction, with no metal or hinge, rests solely on the quality of the material and the precision of the cuts.

Very good condition: the lid has slightly yellowed over time, a natural patina of the plexiglass that in no way detracts from the piece and speaks to its age. The body remains clear. The piece comes from Milan.

At 18.5 cm long by 11 cm wide and 5 cm high, this box sits on a desk or coffee table, to hold small objects and jewellery. A sober piece, all in transparency.
