Italian yellow aluminium “Galassia” catch-all by Brandani, 1980s

Italy, 1980s. Also signed Brandani, the “Galassia” series comes in sunnier tones too: this model wears a mustard yellow enamel, bolder than its pastel siblings. Same construction as the rest of the collection: a cast aluminium shell in an elongated, asymmetric leaf shape, its interior ribbed with fine concentric grooves that catch the light. The exterior remains raw, polished aluminium. Good overall condition: the yellow enamel keeps its full shine, the aluminium shows a light patina, with no dents or cracks. At 36 cm long by 19 cm wide and 14 cm high, it’s the deepest of the three colourways a more sculptural presence, almost a centrepiece. A vivid, graphic piece typical of 1980s Italian design.
