Les Trsors de Turquie, 1966
Hard cover, 255 p., French, 26,5*33 cm.

Les Trsors de Turquie explores the art and cultural history of Turkey through three main periods: the early empires of Anatolia, Byzantium, and the centuries of Islam. The book brings together the work of three leading scholars, each focusing on their own area of expertise: Ekrem Akurgal on the early civilizations of Anatolia, Cyril Mango on Byzantium, and Richard Ettinghausen on Islamic art.

Published by ditions dArt Albert Skira in Geneva in 1966, the book is part of the Les Trsors du Monde series. It covers everything from early Anatolian archaeology and architecture to Byzantine art and Islamic decorative arts, presenting important monuments and objects through detailed text and photography.

The book includes 120 illustrations, 86 of them in colour, with photographs by Maurice Babey. It is also a particularly interesting publication because of the combination of three major scholars and Skiras high-quality approach to art publishing.
