Muller Freres Luneville French Art Deco Glass Tulip Vase, Fume Brown c. 1920s

A museum-grade statement piece from one of Frances legendary Art Deco glass houses, this exceptionally rare 1920s vase is a masterclass in sophistication. Moving away from the hyper-coloration of the Art Nouveau era, the celebrated Muller brothersembraced clean, architectural geometry with this magnificent “tulip” silhouette.

Standing 20.5 cm high with a dramatic, broadly flared 23 cm rim and a substantial weight of 1.7 kg, its rarity lies in its heavy, mold-blown vertical ribbing. This unique structure causes light to refract unevenly through the fum glass, creating an exquisite play of shadow that shifts beautifully between rich tobacco and soft bronze tones throughout the day.

Signed Muller Frres Lunville on the 12 cm base, this 100-year-old treasure is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or structural damage. It carries an honest, authentic patina, including light shelf-wear to the bottom and some minor white calcification marks inside the very lower base from historic use. Entirely typical of genuine period glassware, these light interior marks do not compromise its striking display quality and are virtually unnoticeable when the vase is showcasing a fresh floral arrangement.
